The garishly decorated teahouse is named after the Chinese writer Lao She. He was the writer of the China's famous pre- revolutionary play "Tea House". At Lao She Teahouse, customers sit in an old- world Beijing setting and drink excellent China teas, enjoy delicious traditional Beijing- style snacks and delicacies of the likes which were eaten by Qing Dynasty Emperors, and of course they can watch all kinds of traditional Chinese art performances. Performances include opera and acrobatics, and the programm changes every night.

Since it opened, Lao She Teahouse has entertained many people from China and all over the world. Enjoy Peking Opera, as troupes of aria- singing actors regularly take to the stage in this mammoth teahouse cum auditorium.

The large wooden hall full of tables seats 50 to 100 people.
