Beida Spring 08 - squeezing in

hi all, I called Beida shortly after applications opened (1 Nov) to be told they were already full for the spring semester. I'm applying independently (mid-20s, but not currently at college). Anyone know what the chances are of talking my way in? The two people I spoke to at the Intl Office were adamant I'll just have to wait for the autumn 08 semester. Otherwise I'd probably go BNU. It's got a lot of good press here, but I'd like to hear from someone studying there what BNU's like rig
