Year 2008, Beijing will be the host country of the upcoming Olympic Games. It is in Beijing where you can locate the largest palace in the whole world which is the Forbidden City. Among the other scenic attractions in Beijing includes the Great Wall of China, Royal Quadrangle and almost 200 other must see attractions.
This city is also known as Peking which means northern capital. This name is use as a customary name for Beijing and is seen on their Chinese Postal Map. Beijing currently has more than 11 million populations. The primary dialects in Beijing are Mandarin and Cantonese.
Competition Venue of the Olympics
The main venue to be use for the Olympic sports event will be the National Stadium. It is popularly dubbed as the Bird's Nest due to its unique structure which were installed on the stands. There are 80,000 seats installed and 2,000 lamps to illuminate the whole facility. With the installation of lamps, expectators and citizens alike can not enjoy the great view of the stadium at night.
