The Capital Museum, located in the Confucius Temple on Guozijian Street, Dongcheng District, was built in 1953 but officially opened in 1981.

The Capital Museum holds approximately 200,000 valuable artifacts unearthed in the Beijing area. The collection includes the ancient coins, stoneware, bonzes, steles, jade, calligraphy and paintings.

At the core of the collections are 800 historical relics which outline the history of the Beijing area.

In museum exhibitions from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and the United States are organized.

Since its establishment it has held hundreds of exhibitions of different types concerning history, cultural relics, revolutionary history and folk custom, etc. The Capital Museum holds exhibition in different country's in order to promote Chinese culture.

Hours: 08:30- 16:30, Closed on Monday / Entrance Ticket: 10 Yuan
