Built in 1951, the Natural History Museum is the largest of its kind in China, located in southern Beijing on the western edge of the Temple of Heaven.

The first floor is primarily devoted to zoology. The museum houses more than 80,000 precious items, which are displayed in the Halls of Paleontology, Zoology, Botany and Mankind Evolution. Its spacious galleries contain some fine specimens of fossils including various invertebrates, mammals, early humans, reptiles, dinosaur skeletons and eggs excavated in China.

You can meet dinosaurs in this museum. Dinosaur World is divided into two parts, i.e. Jurassic Park and Cretaceous Park. The Jurassic Park takes you back to 140 million years ago. There are dinosaurs of different types in that period, such as Mamenxi dinosaur, Tuojiang dinosaur, Lufeng dinosaur, and flesh- eater Yongchuan dinosaur and Qi dinosaur and so on.
