Set up in 1955, a talented troupe of puppeteers perform in the Chinese Puppet Theatre, entertaining thousands of people. They have created 300 productions of their own, with a program developed to reveal the culture and tradition of China.

The theater puts on rotating sets puppet skit productions that appeal to kids. Common topics include friendly, talkative groups of tomatoes or small boys who turn into flies.

All of the performances are in Mandarin Chinese, but what better place for your children to learn the language and make friends with local youngsters. The majority of shows are on weekend mornings and afternoons.

The troupe of the Chinese Puppet Theatre has performed more than 20,000 thousand times. "Monkey King Makes Hell of Heaven", "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" and "The Magic Trumpet" are some of their famous shows. "The Magic Trumpet" was awarded the Wenhua Prize issued by the Ministry of Culture. Their latest show "Mermaid" was designed by using wonderful light, sound and stage design effects.
